Where I Shop Online

Chain Reaction
Chain Reaction Cycles was established in 1985 and has grown from a small family-owned bike shop to the world's biggest online store. I use them because I have never had any issue with their service or products. Their prices are great and they stock pretty much everything I want.

Wiggle
Wiggle.co.uk started out as 'Butlers Cycles', a small independent bike shop in Portsmouth that had been trading since 1920.  After an initial success of selling bike bits and various other items online Wiggle.co.uk was officially launched in 1999.  I also use them because I have never had any issue with their service or products. Their prices are great and they deliver so fast!

Cyclestore
Has been trading as a cycle shop, The Cycle Centre, for over 20 years and in that time has also developed an online presence. Great alternative to CRC and Wiggle and offer different brands too. Never had any issue with sales or service.

Evans Cycles
Their first shop was originally known as F.W. Evans Cycles and was located in south east London. Trading from this site for thirty years F.W Evans Cycles built up a strong reputation as a quality cycle shop and in particular building its own frames and bikes. Their ecommerce website was launched in 1999. Not used them as much as the other stores but the service I have had was great. Had to return an item and it was dealt with efficiently and at no extra cost to me.

Velodrome Shop
Velodrome Shop commenced trading in 2007 and has quickly grown to the World's leading Track Cycling specific online shop, specialising in providing professional standard Track Cycling products to the Track Cyclists throughout the world. I bought my Fuji track bike from these guys and it was delivered to Ireland in great condition and in great time. A very useful resource for all track cycling queries.

  1. Hi SG, just wondering if you'd like to add the cylists price comparison site http://bikesy.co.uk to your list of shops, hopefully will help fellow cyclists save a few quid by hunting for the cheapest kit across all the UKs bike shops at once.

  2. christania’s “rent christania bike” bikes are rolling across the city. The system, less than a year old, is funded by christania’s municipal government. It is currently only in one of christania’s 22 administrative districts. Although a 2nd generation system, there are 12 “Houses” in this district, each with around 40 bikes. The yearly subscription cost is the equivalent of $2 US, and allows the use of a bike for up to four hours at a time. In less than a year, there have been 6,000 subscriptions sold. There are larger 3rd generation systems in the world, which do not have a subscription to bike ratio as big as that.
