My wwoofing Summer

Any regular readers of this blog will have noticed that there have been no updates since the end of May. This is because my wwoofing summer has been busier and far more exciting than I could ever have imagined. After five months, I am leaving France this coming week and heading into Spain and Portugal for the next two months. I am quite sad to be leaving France for now and the friends I have made, but I know that new challenges and adventures await me further south.

Here are a few of the many things I have been doing this wwoofing summer...

Cladding a barn

Building a bike for a birthday present

Painting wooden shutters

Staining garden furniture
Painting a bathroom

Collecting fallen fruit
Repairing a wheelbarrow

Stacking logs
Mixing straw and clay...

...to build internal walls...

...in an eco house
Installing...

...tiling...

...and grouting...

...kitchen worktops

Moving a bi-plane

Repairing a barn roof...

Removing tile...

...after tile...

...after tile...

...and stacking them...
...and then putting them all back again after repairing and waterproofing...

...mixing cement...

...and finishing off.

Moving logs...

...with a little help...

...from man and machine
Splitting logs with machinery...

...and by hand... for the difficult ones

Stacking logs...again

Making a mess...

...and clearing up

Qu'est-ce que vous avez fait cet été?

  1. FABULOUS tiling job! Chapeau! But that roofing project looks horrendous. You are certainly having a varied and interesting time. Hope your Spanish/Portuguese interlude goes well. Keep updating your blog so we can keep track of you. :)
