Cycle Touring Day 34

Today's cycle from St. Valery en Caux to Les Loges, was the toughest of the lot so far! In the end only did about 60km as I spent the entire day combing and descending. It was a short day in the saddle but the climbs, although slow, did not seem to tax me as much as the earlier climbs (is my body getting stinger already?), although finally they just got a bit tedious. Eventually thought, they took their toll and just as I reached one particular campsite I had outlined on the map, the rain began to fall. I was not sure exactly where to cross the river Seine out of Le Harve, so did not know how long it would take to get across. Along with the rain, something was telling me to stop for the day so I gave into temptation and set up camp. Once done, I fell asleep for a few hours and woke to grey skies. I cooked some dinner, wrote my diary and began listening to my French language course on the iPod. After a couple of hours though I felt a headache coming on so I stopped. I fell asleep listening the heavy rainfall on the tent.

  1. Aw, I'm sorry the weather isn't being kinder to you. Keep our fingers crossed for better. Good luck with the French, I never mastered it.

  2. I'm struggling too if it's any consolation, although I did speak to the waiter in Biarritz, giving my order and then asking directions to la plage
